The fish should be scared...

Photobucket

Margie: Sister, did you know that June is aquarium month? Let's buy us an aquarium. I love to watch fish shows on TV so it'd be nice to have our own. I don't want any big-mouthed fish because your big mouth is more than enough for me.

Edna:  Tell me this, sister.  Who's going to clean out that aquarium when it gets dirty?  This isn't some Disney movie where the fish can take care of themselves.

Margie: Edna, you're just being silly. Nobody cleans the oceans or rivers so it's obvious that the fish clean up their own living area. Unlike you.

Edna:  I'm going to call the pet store and tell them not to let you in.  With an attitude like that, we'll have an expensive tank filled with dead fish inside of a week.  Besides, how were you planning on paying for this  aquarium?  Maybe Mary Bailey will let you wait tables for tip money.

Margie: Edna, you are a true idjit. You'll be responsible for cleaning the aquarium since you'll be the one buying it! I just want to watch your pretty fish.

Edna:  Margie, it never ceases to amaze me how you can flap your gums sixty ways to Sunday and yet you never say anything intelligent.  Truly, it's one of the wonders of the world--or, at least, of Jericho.

Margie's mistake

Photobucket

Margie: This elderberry cordial is mighty fine, sister. I'm all tuckered out from running errands today. Have another one, Edna, and I'll tell you a funny story. It'll probably be in tomorrow's paper and I wouldn't want you to see it and have a fainting spell. Don't get your bloomers in a wad because your heart isn't what it used to be.

Edna:  Margie, with a lead-in like that, how am I supposed to stay relaxed?  You just spit out your story and let me decide what to do with my bloomers.

Margie: Well, it was a hot day and I had all the windows in the car rolled down then my favorite song by Rihanna came on the radio. I turned up the volume and was singing along when I looked in the mirror and saw the flashing blue lights. I pulled over as I'm a law-abiding citizen. This hunk of a trooper walked up to my car and said something but I couldn't hear him.

My word, he was handsome. Well, I said to myself that I wasn't doing anything wrong so my Sunday School friends must be aiming to surprise me with a little treat. I turned the music a little louder and yelled, "Take it off. Take it all off." How was I to know he really was a trooper and not a male stripper?

He took me to the hoosegow but you need not worry. My friend, Mary Bailey, came and got me out. Deputy Jimmy said it may be in tomorrow's paper though.

Edna:  Good God, Margie, you should have poured me a bigger cordial before telling me all that. The next time the doctor asks me why my bleeding ulcers aren't getting better, I'm showing him this story.

Margie: You are nothing but a big baby. Would you like to hear another story?

Edna:  Not if it involves strippers, real or imaginary.  You just keep that to yourself.

A new hope for Jericho?

Photobucket

Edna:  Margie, I just found something on the Internet, I think you'd best come over here and listen to this. Do you remember when that film crew was in Jericho a few years back, making that documentary about us townfolk?  I'm sure you do, I definitely remember how much you complained that they focused too much on the Green family (especially that scandalous Jake Green!) and not enough on the rest of us.

Margie: Edna, those folks came here and made a big commotion but did they put you and me on the TV? No, and we've lived here longer than anybody else. We ARE Jericho. Nuts!

Edna:  I think we'd better take some steps to make sure we're included this time.  I don't know about you, but I'm going to go out and buy a new hat. The flashier the better, maybe that will attract some attention during filming.  Plus, I'm going to write a letter to that Mr. Netflix, whoever he is. Plead our case directly, so to speak.

Margie: Great idea! I think I'll wear my new hat that has the big fish on it. Do write him a letter and we'll enclose a picture of me. He won't be able to refuse us then for sure!

+++++++++++++++

News broke last week on various online media outlets (TV Guide and The New York Times, among others) that Netflix may be picking up Jericho in order to resume filming the TV series that originally aired on CBS. We were tickled to hear the news, because Jericho is a show that we both hold near and dear to our hearts.  This is partly because we both participated in the original fight for the second season, but it's also because Jericho is how and why we became friends in the first place.  We would love for Jericho to get another chance, and fans are mobilizing to help Netflix to fully appreciate what a devoted fandom Jericho already has.  If you're interested in becoming involved, we suggest you check out SavingJericho.com for resources and suggestions on how to let your voice be heard.

National Peanut Month

Photobucket

Margie: March is National Peanut Month. I guess we all know a lot about peanuts. Yes, I remember when CBS came to town and filmed Jericho. It was a wonderful show even though a lot of nuts watched it. I bet a lot of nuts are still working at CBS too. I won't call any names.

I remember all the nuts we sent those folks. Those were the days, huh? Well, it's pretty quiet here these days. Edna and I still go to Bailey's but Skeet doesn't come by anymore and all those TV trucks are gone.

You all grab some nuts and let's watch the reruns of Jericho. Come see us again. We'll leave the lights on for you.

Edna Nears Home

Photobucket

Margie: How do you folks like my fire? Cousin T came and got it going for me. I have my elderberry cordial and I'm snug and happy. Well, I'm happy for now anyway. It's always lovely when Edna is off on her winter vacation. I love the quiet and doing what I please. I hope she knows I don't want her to come back but she always comes home just to spite me. That calls for another cordial.

Anyhows, the nitwit gets home next week so the house will be a mess again and Edna will gripe and complain from daylight to dark. I bet she cleans up after herself when she's vacating. Vacationing. Too bad she can't find an old man to marry her then she could move.

Here's a roast- I mean a toast. To Edna, the witnit. Nitwit. Wait until I refill my glass. Okay, I toast thee idjit of the world. May you never come back to Jersey. I mean Jericho. I feel dizzy.

I'd best say goodnight friends. Have a good sleep with somebody handsome. Ta ta!

Margie's Swimming Pool

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, I'm all set for summer. Look at the swimming pool Cousin T & his boss made for me. The Margiedales are out of nursing school for the summer so we'll be hanging in the pool.

I asked Meals On Wheels to deliver my food to the pool every day too. Guess what, Edna? I can even stay in the pool while one of the boys drives us to Grace's Market to buy Pepsi.

Edna: Lord in heaven, Margie! Just when I think you can't embarrass me more, you sink to new lows.

You mark my words right here and now: if you go driving down the street in that thing, I'm going to call Deputy Jimmy and report a moving violation. You and the Margiedales are in for a heap of trouble, sister.

Margie: Sister, the only moving violation in this town is your mouth!

Edna: Just don't you forget that we have decency laws around here, too. I'm not coming to bail you out of jail because you've been riding around town topless, you floozy.

National Puppy Day

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, today is National Puppy Day which supports the ban of Puppy Mills. I agree with that too. Folks could help all these animals by rescuing instead of buying. You know how I feel about this subject so you best agree with me.

Edna: No need to badger me, of course I agree with you that puppy mills should be banned. What do you think I am, some kind of heartless shrew?

Margie: That's what you are for sure. Well, you're only heartless to people, not animals.

Let's spread the word about today to all our friends. Edna, can we adopt a puppy and name him Jericho?

Edna: Margie, that's a nice idea about the puppy. But I don't think it's a good idea for two old ladies to adopt an energetic puppy, because I'm not sure we can keep up with him. It would be a shame for him to come live here then not get the exercise he deserves. He'd get plenty of love, though. Let's ask Cousin T if he can take in a puppy; he's got all that pasture land back of his house. Lots of good rabbit-hunting to be found there. And a boy surely does need a dog or three.

Margie: Great idea! I'll go call Cousin T.Maybe he'll bring us some rabbit to fry.

Where are all the good new TV shows??

Photobucket

Edna: Margie, I'm a little underwhelmed by this season's new TV shows. I haven't seen anything yet that I couldn't live without. What about you?

Margie: I sure haven't seen much for sure. Actually, the only new show I like is that FlashForward on ABC. I wish I could have a flash forward so I'd be able to see if I ever have any peace from your big mouth.

Edna: Well, guess what? I saw MY flash forward and six months from now I'm sitting on a beach in Tahiti sipping mojitos with a handsome young man, and you're nowhere in sight. How do you like them apples, sister?

I like that FlashForward show too,
I suppose it's interesting enough. But I sure don't think it's the next LOST like everyone keeps saying it is. This season's crop of new shows just isn't grabbing me like my old favorites still do. I tried to give The Forgotten a try (because it has that nice young man on it that so reminds me of Deputy Jimmy), but it's not holding my attention much so far. I think it's bound for cancellation, and I won't be mailing any peanuts to anyone to save it, that's for sure.

Margie: Happy day! You'll be gone soon and I'm moving all my young men into this house. Margie's playmates. Yee haw!!

I watched a little bit of that Good Wife but it's just not for me. I do like her husband. Wonder why they didn't call it The Good Husband? No peanuts from me either.

Edna: It figures you'd like the husband, isn't he supposed to have been a philanderer? Mama always lamented over your floozy ways, you know.

There haven't been many good prospects for sit-coms this fall either, come to think of it. I tried watching that Modern Family but I found it too uncomfortable to watch. That's supposed to be a comedy? I am enjoying Glee quite a bit, which is kind of funny and quirky, but it has a soap opera-ish facet to it that I'm finding surprisingly unenjoyable.

Margie, perhaps we're just too old to fit the network demographics anymore.

Margie: Maybe I'll just stick to watching my Sons of Anarchy too. You're too old for anything, Edna.

Edna: I'm not too old to be your YOUNGER sister, you harpy.

So readers, what do you all think are the hits and duds of the Fall TV season so far?

National Librarian Day

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, I just love this day that's been set aside for librarians. You know I spent all my working life as the Jericho librarian. My word, I helped many a student there and I must say that I helped everyone by being strictly professional yet friendly.

Many students say that I'm the reason they went on to college, Edna. I do love it when folks come back to Jericho and want to see how Miss Margie is doing. I am certainly held in high regard by the citizens of Jericho. Edna, why didn't you ever visit the library more often back then?

Edna: Margie, I'm sure if you think long and hard on that question, you'll figure it out. Now, just because I didn't go to the Jericho library does not mean that I dislike reading. Quite the opposite. I just preferred to go to other libraries where I knew my book choices wouldn't be scrutinized then spread all over town by some busybody with loose lips.

Anyway, now that the library has a much more discreet head librarian, I just adore going there every week and bringing home a bag full of new books. Sometimes I think there's no better feeling in the world than having a fresh stack of brand-new books to read. All those new worlds to explore...my lands, it's enough to send me into raptures.

Margie: My stars, Edna, I'm glad I wasn't that kind of librarian and I'm especially proud that the Jericho library didn't stoop to the level of offering the kinds of books you always wanted to read!

Remember when Miss Maizie told the town about you reading that "Peyton Place" book? What a scandal that was.

The only thing that sends you into a rapture, Edna, are those books that arrive here in the mailbox with no return address.

Edna: Margie, every time you open your mouth, out fly a flurry of untruths and fibs! You're just spoiling for a fight, but I won't be stooping to your level so you can just forget it.

And since you were such a helpful librarian, maybe you can tell our readers how they can celebrate National Librarians Day.

Margie: Librarians do a wonderful job and it's not as easy as it sometimes looks. Give your librarian a special Thank You today for all their hard work. They don't get near the appreciation they deserve.

We Love Jennie

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, you remember our friend Jennie Sword? We need to write her a note to let her know we're still thinking about her. She's such a pretty, kind young woman. I wish everybody would be as sweet as she is.

Edna: Of course I remember Jennie, she was so nice when we interviewed her a while back, remember? I must say, this is one of your better ideas, I'd love to write her a note. We should tell her how much we miss her, and how our little town of Jericho just isn't the same since she left. Where is it she's living now?

Margie: She's living in California, Edna. We should write her and ask her if she's finding any bargains in Beverly Hills. Maybe those rich folks are having hard times too.

Frankly, I'll just ask if I can borrow her credit card because I bet she'd feel bad turning down an old lady. I wonder if she's met any nice cowboys lately?

Edna: Margie, don't you dare ask that girl for her credit card! You'll shame the both of us, and she'll think you're just an uncouth old woman. Which you are, of course, but there's no need for her to know that.

I do remember that she loves horses, so maybe she does know where there are some cowboys. I imagine there must be some real ones out there in California, they can't all be movie cowboys. You know, one of the things on my list to learn before I die is riding a horse, I wonder if she'd come back here for a visit and teach me how?

Margie: I have the best idea! Let's buy a horse for her and tell her it's here then she'd have to come visit again! She's so pretty that the young men would swarm around here.

Let me see your credit card, Edna. I want you to have your riding lessons.

Edna: Oh no you don't! You stay away from my wallet. If you want her to come visit, you can just think of something that doesn't involve my credit card.

I think if we told her that she could come for a nice restful stay in our guestroom, she'd like that. We could make up some of Mama's teacakes for her, and she could have all the special tea she wanted. I know she must be tired of the rat race out there in Los Angeles, so a visit here to Jericho would be just what she needed. Margie, go get out the writing paper and let's get this note ready for sending!

Fun Friday: Hoodie-Hoo

Photobucket

Margie: Friends, you all know how Edna insults me and hurts my feelings. She's always calling me names and being hateful. Well, here's how a good sister acts. I spent my own money and bought Edna a ticket to Jericho's Chocolate and Dessert Festival. It's true. I didn't swipe her credit card or take the money off her dresser.

All I ask in return is for Edna to do me one small favor. I want her to go outside at noon, wave her hands over her head, and shout, "Hoodie-Hoo." That's all.

Not only should that send winter away but Edna's screeching and her bird legs showing should drive the townfolks into laughter like they've never seen. Everybody in town will have a happy day.

By the way, Hoodie-Hoo Day is a copyrighted holiday.

Can it be true? A "Jericho" movie!

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, do you remember when all those nice folks came to town and made that TV show called Jericho? We met that lovely Jennie Sword and April Parker-Jones and all those other lovely people.

You aren't going to believe what I found out today at the beauty parlor. Guess, Edna.

Edna: Did they finally get up the nerve to tell you that your hair is falling out? Because I've been telling you that for years and you never believe me.

Of course I remember that TV show, you ninny! Now, just tell me what you found out, I can tell that you can hardly contain yourself.

Margie: I'm ignoring your insults today, prune lips. That's because I'm happy since Jericho is going to be a movie. It'll be on the big screen, Edna.

I just know they're going to want us in the movie so who do you want to play the part of you?

Edna: A movie! Oh Margie, that's wonderful news. Why, I'd want to play myself, of course. First of all, no other actress could do me justice (except for maybe Dame Judi Dench, but I doubt she could lose that accent and sound like someone from Kansas). And secondly, you know I always aspired to a film career but Mama and Daddy never approved. Now's my chance!

Margie: Edna, I'm playing myself because I want to do some love scenes. That's what I'm best at doing. Maybe I'll have one with that young Skeet or Brad Beyer. Maybe I'll just have a love scene with all the gentlemen.

We'd best get on the phone to that Mr. Turteltaub and tell him we want to play ourselves before he replaces us. Go call him, Edna.

Edna: Margie, I truly don't understand how you can keep calling me a hussy when you say such scandalous things! I think I will go call Mr. Turteltaub, but believe you me, I'm telling him not to let you near any of those nice young men. You don't want his best actors fleeing the set, do you?

Margie: They can flee to the basement, Edna. What fun that will be. Go call him.

Edna: All right, all right, I'll call. Get off my back, woman! I'll tell you this right now, I'm asking for my own trailer, because I am surely NOT sharing one with you. And before you go getting any fancy ideas, Mr. Skeet won't want you sharing his, either.

Jericho fans got some good news last month when rumors surfaced about a possible "Jericho" movie in the works. We don't want to get our hopes up too high, but we are mighty excited about it nevertheless!

National Soup Month

Photobucket

Margie: This is National Soup Month and I've sure been celebrating by eating a lot of homemade soup. It's been such a cold month that soup sure has hit the spot.

My favorite is Potato soup made the way our Granny used to made it. I love vegetable soup and cheese soup too. The only problem around here is that Edna gobbles it up like a glutton. Anyway, eat your soup. It's good for you.

The Secret's in the Sauce

Photobucket
Image courtesy of Duke University Libraries Digital Collections

Edna: Margie, with Thanksgiving coming up, people's minds seem to be on what they're going to serve for dinner. Why, just the other day, Darcy Hawkins asked me for my cranberry sauce recipe.

Margie: Edna, I hope you didn't give it to her since you're no cook. If you made cranberry sauce you'd only do it to spite me. I hate that stuff.

Edna: More for me, then. And you can just hush up about my cranberry sauce, I'll have you know that it's always in demand at church suppers.

It did give me pause when she asked for the recipe though, since I never wrote it down. I cook like Mama did, from memory and by improvising. Here's what I came up with for Darcy, I hope it turns out well for her.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Edna's Cranberry Sauce

1 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries, rinsed
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar (more or less to taste)
1 cup grated apple
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
orange zest (if desired)

In Corningware or enamel saucepan, combine the water and OJ. Using medium heat, stir the sugar into the liquid until it's dissolved. Add the washed cranberries to the mixture and turn heat on high. Stirring the berries occasionally, listen for the berries to start popping--this should take about 10 minutes or so. Once the berries begin to pop, stir the mixture occasionally and cook for about 5-10 minutes over high heat. (Cook for longer if you want the berries to break down more and your sauce to be thicker; the less you cook them, the more the berries keep their shape and consistency and the thinner your sauce is. However, if you are going to cook the sauce for more than 10 minutes, reduce the heat to medium to prevent scorching.) After you have cooked the cranberries as long as you want, remove from heat and add the apples and the walnuts (and orange zest, if desired). Let the sauce stand for about an hour before putting it in the refrigerator to chill, preferably overnight. Do not store in a metal container due to the high acid content of the sauce.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Margie: Edna, you sully Mama's memory because she was a wonderful cook. What you call cooking would only be fit for pig slop.

You know what? It's not in demand at church suppers. People are just being mannerly to an old lady by taking some.

Edna: I suppose they were being mannerly by eating it all and coming back for seconds, too? Well that's just fine Margie, you don't have to eat any of my cranberry sauce when I make it for Thanksgiving dinner. Cousin T and will eat it all ourselves. Don't you think I'll share any of that pecan pie I'm making, either.

Margie: Thank you, Edna. That's right kindly of you.

Come on-a my house!

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, I'm very excited about Halloween this year. I think it's wonderful that we decided to have a haunted house for all the children in Jericho.

I do have one small concern, sister, and I'll say this as nicely as I can. You said you'd like to greet the children at the door. If you do that, Edna, they'll run away screaming and will never see the haunted house.

Edna: Margie, if I had a nickel for every time you insulted me, I'd be richer than Bill Gates. You know good and well that the reason I want to greet the children is because I want to see their little costumes. They always look so cute, trying to be scary.

I hope we have a better turn-out this year than we did last Halloween. We spent all that time decorating the house and barely any children came.

Margie: See how you are, Edna? I tell the truth and you call it an insult. I love to see the little costumes too.

There's your answer, Edna. Barely any children came last year because you were waiting by the door. Besides, you ate most of the candy.

Edna: Oh no you don't, you fibber, I'm not the one who went to bed early last Halloween with a stomachache! I don't think we had as many decorations last year, maybe that was the problem. Everything looks nice and spooky this year, and I like how you put those fake spiderwebs out in the bushes.

Margie: I like how you helped Cousin T with his werewolf costume. He's going to do a good job this year.

Edna, here's a scary thought. Do you think Aunt Biddy and Itty Biddy will wear costumes this year?

Edna: Lord help us, those two look so ridiculous on a normal day, I'm not sure you'd be able to tell the difference between a costume and how they usually look.

I ran into Deputy Jimmy yesterday, and he said he's going to bring his two little ones by the house tonight. I told him to spread the word, we've got lots of candy and fun thrills in store for all the Jericho kids.

Margie: Deputy Jimmy? Bye, Edna. I'm going to the mall and exchange my costume.

Edna: Margie, if you can't show a lawman your costume, it's probably not good to show the young'uns either. Good thing I decided on the flapper dress, it's family-friendly.

Now go put something decent on and hurry back, I hear some children coming up the walk.

Margie Visits The Dr.

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, come sign this petition before I take it to Bailey's Tavern. It's time for us to get rid of this quack we've called a doctor for all these years.

I went for my check-up today and I'm here to tell you that the old fool has lost his mind. I'm getting me a young doctor.

Edna: Oh Lord, folks, she's on another one of her rampages. Margie, what did the doctor tell you this time that's got you all up-in-arms?

Margie: Edna, first he said my feet and legs were swollen a bit. He said that's because I have water retention. He said it like that's a bad thing. You know, at our age, it's good that we can hold our water and tea or we'd be wearing adult diapers.

Edna: Somehow, I don't think that's what the doctor meant, you nitwit. I don't know, it sounds to me like he knows what he's talking about. Why are you so upset with him, what else did he say?

Margie: I hate trying to talk to you, Edna. The next thing he said was that I need to limit my salt intake. That proves he's a quack.

Edna, I am not going to be a laughingstock! How can I limit salt when I live in a town with a salt mine and all these peanuts? The very idea!

Edna: Margie, I do agree that's going to be difficult. But unless you got a medical degree when I wasn't looking, you'd best listen to the man.

Besides, just who do you think is going to be laughing at you?

Margie: Edna, I'm through talking with you. You're a fruit loop. Now you sign this or I'll forge your name and you know I can.

Edna: You can kiss my grits! I'm not signing your stupid petition, you're just mad because you don't like what the doctor told you to do. And if you try and forge my name, I'll call Deputy Jimmy and have him come out and haul you back to jail. Don't think I won't!

Margie and Edna talk football

Photobucket

Margie: Edna, I'm sick and tired of us going to Bailey's Tavern every Saturday night and being the only non- football addicts there. We can learn a little bit about the game so we can converse intelligently with folks.

You come sit down and let's watch this game on TV. Mr. Hawkins has taught me a few things about it and we're not too old to learn more.

Edna: Margie, I'm not so sure that I want to converse with those hooligans down at Bailey's about football, they're always shouting and rough-housing. But I'll give it a try if you think it's a good idea.

Did Mr. Hawkins tell you why the ball isn't round? That has always stumped me.

Margie: Edna, Mr. Hawkins is a smart man. He said the ball is shaped like that because it will fly through the air like a missile. I must say, though, that I don't understand why that young man who throws the ball is called a quarterback.

Edna, how does he play with a bad back like that?

Edna: Margie, they probably don't literally mean a quarter of a back, but it beats me what that name really means. This whole game is a mystery to me, I tell you what. I don't understand why they keep knocking each other over like that, it's very rude.

But to tell you the truth, what I really want to know is why they call that one player a "tight end". They all look like tight ends in those tight pants, that's for sure.

Margie: Edna, I see your point. Why don't we forget learning about football and study these tight ends in more detail? You get the special tea and I'll make popcorn!

Edna: It's a deal, sister.

Margie and Edna: Origins

Some of the more recent followers of Margie and Edna may not be aware of the ladies' humble beginnings, so today we'd like to shed a little light on their origins.

Margie and Edna's past began well before this blog did. They have their roots in a CBS television show, Jericho. In the spring of 2007, Jericho was canceled and fans got angry. What followed was a massive fan uprising. Ultimately, the nutty fan protest led CBS to change its mind and complete a shortened second season of the show. (Sadly, the show didn't survive its second season and was canceled again.) The "Save Jericho" campaign of 2007 took place largely online, with fans of the show making use of blogs and other resources such as Digg to spread the word about their show and its plight.

Margie and Edna debuted on the Remote Access television blog in August 2007, and made several repeat appearances there as well as on other blogs. (It should be noted that the characters of Margie and Edna never actually appear on the show itself. Rather, we created these two characters as a way to be able to comment on the show's action without the limitations of being in the show, which gave us a certain amount of freedom in what we could have the ladies discuss.) The two elderly sisters soon grew in popularity within the Jericho fandom, and in October 2007 a short video was created to illustrate their place in the community of Jericho.

We'd like to share that video with you today, and we hope you enjoy it. With the inception of this blog in March 2008, Margie and Edna were able to branch out from the Jericho universe and into a world of their own, much to our delight. We thank you all, both old fans and new, for continuing to provide an audience for these two crabby old ladies.

We Get Sentimental

Margie: Edna, I must be getting feeble-minded because I'm going to tell you something I've never told you before. You best be nice or I'll never tell you anything else ever.

It was 1940 and I was out with my beau. Your beau had taken you to a moving picture. You know Daddy made us come home early if we went out? Well, my beau and I lost track of time so I got home well past curfew. I knew my tushie was in big trouble so I needed to find a way to sneak into the house.

I was peeking in windows to see if I could get in when my eyes beheld the most amazing sight. I heard music and then I saw them. Edna, Mama and Daddy were dancing! Yes, I said Daddy. They never knew what time I got home that night and that's why you didn't get in trouble either.

Listen, Edna. Here's what they were playing.

Edna: Oh Margie, what a sweet memory of Mama and Daddy! Thank you for sharing it with me, I always knew that Daddy was a softy.
