Margie: I must admit that I was once a soap opera addict. Over the years, though, I lost interest in all but one soap and that's The Young and The Restless. I've watched this soap since it started in 1973.
My favorite character is Victor Newman. He tickles me ordering people around and being a control freak. (I just described my sister.) Anyway, I love it when he says, "I built this company from the ground up" and " You got that?"
Here's a tribute to the first 10 years of the show. Look at the way it was and enjoy.

Really creative. Will be coming over again.
You brought back a lot of memories - I guess I was only about 8 when that show started, but I very vividly remember long, hot summer days sitting in Grandma's living room watching her "programs" with her - ones like Y&R (which she still watched), The Secret Storm, The Edge of Night, As the World Turns... you name it, she watched it!
Thanks for the flashback - I so love your blog!!!
It's nice to know that sophisticated bloggers such as you actually watch soap operas! I guess I can now feel much better about my lifelong addiction to "Days of Our Lives."
I never miss any episode of The Horny and The Hopeless.
Cheers
I don't watch soap opera's but my wife does. She love's Days of our lives.
Like Liz I watched all of those CBS shows with my mom. I still watch ATWT and Guiding Light.
Debby
Wow! I had no clue Hasselback was part of the Y&R cast. I personally don't remember the "early years" but it was a good trip down memory lane.
