Travelin' Edna

Edna: Hello everyone! As some of you were aware, I was taking a vacation from my sister--er, BLOGGING, but I just couldn't stay away any longer. I missed you all too much, and I had to see what my sister was up to in my absence. I suppose Margie behaved herself somewhat on our blog while I was gone, but trust me when I tell you that you do NOT want to see the mess she made in the basement. My lands, I don't know what she was up to down there, and I don't want to know so none of you tell me.

I didn't tell anyone where I went on my vacation because I didn't want my sister tagging along. She gets whiny when she thinks she's missing something fun, so I just told her I was going to a month-long knitting seminar. I surely didn't think she was dumb enough to believe that, but she didn't bat an eyelash when I told her that load of baloney. She even helped me pack, wasn't that sweet?

Now, if you're all waiting for me to tell you where I went, you've got a long wait coming. I had so much fun that I'm planning on going back and I don't want my sister ruining it for me by going there and getting our good family name banned from the state. I'll give you a hint, though: it had palm trees, sand, and sun. And it was someplace where they know how to treat the elderly with dignity and respect. That's all I'm going to say, but I did come back with a lovely tan and a little souvenir for Margie.

A Surprise For Edna

Photobucket

Margie: I am so excited that I just have to tell you all a secret. Just keep it under your hats because I don't want to spoil Edna's homecoming surprise.

You see, Cousin T and I were having our special tea last night and we got to discussing how Edna likes all that tropical stuff like what's in Florida.

After we'd enjoyed a few glasses of tea, I was telling Cousin T that he may not have book learning but that boy can build anything you want. And paint? That boy works magic with a paintbrush.

Anyway, I digress. Cousin T and I have have decided to do one of those extremist makeovers like what's on TV. You know that show called "Extremist Home Makeovers"? We're doing Edna an extremist bedroom makeover. Won't she be surprised when she gets home?

Now here's Edna's bedroom before she left.

Margie: We still have to do a few finishing touches. Here's one I have to go get:

Margie: I can't wait to see Edna's face when she sees this! I'm such a thoughtful sister.
