Happy Birthday Ann-Margret
Margie: Edna, I'd like to wish Ann-Margret a very happy birthday today. No need to discuss age. I have always believed her to be classy, elegant, beautiful, talented, and almost as sexy as me.
You know she married that Roger Smith and he's a fine looking man. Best of all, she knew Elvis. I'd sure like to talk to her about that.
Anyway, I baked a cake for her but I suppose we can eat it if you like.
Edna: No sense having it go to waste, unless you're planning to mail the thing to her. Happy Birthday Ann-Margret, may you have many more!

We Remember Elvis
Margie: Edna, remember back in the 1970's when we went to that Elvis concert? I nearly wet my pants when he walked out on stage. I cried so hard just because my dream had always been to see him in person.
Remember how he kept winking at me?
Edna: Of course I remember that. But Margie, I said it then and I'll say it now: Elvis was not winking at you! Not only were there thousands of other people at that concert, but the poor man was blinking because sweat kept getting in his eyes. My lands, your ability to re-write history is astounding.
What I remember most is how lovely his voice sounded live. Not like today's yodelers who don't sound good live unless their voices have been filtered electronically. Oh, but that man could croon a love song!
Margie: Edna, do you ever take responsibility for your cruel actions? You've left out the fact that Elvis sent one of his Memphis Mafia over to me after the concert. Elvis invited me backstage so he was winking at me.
You're just a toad-faced jealous hussy. I don't suppose you remember what I told you later that night?
Edna: What, that you wished that I hadn't stopped you from throwing your unmentionables up on stage? I remember that, all right.
Margie: That's just part of what you did that night and I will never forgive you. I was about to go with that nice Mafia man to meet Elvis then you started screaming for a security guard.
There I stood holding my drawers and you screaming that I was a pervert who was going to attack Elvis. I'll never forgive you, hussy. You best keep watching your back. My day will come.

Happy Birthday Elvis

Margie: Oh, Cousin T, I knew you'd drop by today. You always remember Elvis' birthday.
You sit down right there because I've made us some fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. You know how Elvis loved them.
Cousin T: He loved his Momma too and I can certainly relate to that. I can never stop thinking about him young and singing "My Happiness" and thinking about just how happy that must have made her.
Margie: Yes, you're both Momma's boys. Will you take me to Graceland next year?
Cousin T: I would love to "Follow the highway through the cradle of the civil war " with you Miss Margie and touch the green, green grass of Elvis' home.
Margie: And I want to park my rear end where Elvis once put his.
Happy birthday Elvis!

Margie's Fun Friday
Margie: What a hectic week it's been. Not only has there been shopping and cooking but how about all this snow and ice? I think we all deserve a break.
Edna has gone to town to try to exchange all the gifts she got for cash. She's so ungrateful.
Anyway, while Edna is gone and I have some peace I thought you all might want to escape with me and enjoy something relaxing.
Let's go.

Tears for The King: August 16, 1977
Margie: Edna, you know how much I loved Elvis. August 16 will be the 31st anniversary of his death. I remember what I was doing that day in 1977 like it was yesterday.
You remember Mr. Hershey was trying to court me so we had gone for a drive that day. He had stopped to buy gasoline and to get us an RC Cola and Moon Pie. Honey, he came out of that store looking like he'd seen a ghost. He said he'd heard on the radio that Elvis was dead.
I called him an old lying fool and told him to take me home! I still don't believe it.
Edna: That was surely a sad day, wasn’t it? You know, I remember back in the early 70s, listening to a local AM radio station at night while I was cleaning up the kitchen and setting things to rights after a long day. The station signed off at each broadcast day by playing Elvis’ “American Trilogy.” Every single night, I would stand there and listen to him sing, and it never failed to bring tears to my eyes. I still can’t listen to it without getting goosebumps.
Oh, and his funeral, it was like the whole world was mourning.
Margie: Edna, I think we should go to that YouTube place and watch Trilogy right now. What do you say?
Edna: I think that's a fine idea, sister.
