Canned Food Month

Photobucket

February is National Canned Food Month; we'd like to ask that our readers honor this month by donating canned goods to their local food banks. Every little bit helps, and in these unsure economic times food banks are struggling to meet demand.

To find a food bank in your area, please check out this directory or check your local phone book.

What a great reminder for everyone to help out their local food bank at other times besides around the hoidays! It sounds like most food banks are struggling to keep up with the need this year. If everyone who is able would donate just one can (many cost only 60 - 70 cents each), we could really make a difference for those in need.

National Canned Food Month?

Never heard of it.

We have several food banks around here, as well as a women's shelter, which we can donate to.

Thanks for the heads up.

Great cause and easy way for people to help others, no matter how large or small.

This is such a good reminder. It is sad but people forget to donate beyond the holiday season.

thanks for the heads up. By chance, I just placed some old cans from the cupboard in a bag - now I know where to take them!
