M&E's TV Rant

Photobucket

Edna: Margie, I am plumb fed up, and for once it doesn't have anything to do with you.

Margie: In that case, Edna, tell me all about it. I'm all ears.

Edna: Thank you, Margie. I swan, I'm so upset about this, I think I might need a cup of special tea. Maybe two.

Those dang fool networks are at it again, they're canceling my favorite shows! First ABC decided that they weren't going to order any more episodes of Pushing Daisies (and we all know what that means). Then, NBC decided to get in on the act and they canceled My Own Worst Enemy. What's going to go next? Chuck? Fringe? Heaven forbid, Supernatural??

Margie, it's getting to the point that I don't even want to watch new shows any more. What's the point? I find something I like, and then the networks cancel it. It's all about the ratings and their advertisers, TV executives sure don't care about their real customers: the viewers.

Margie: I need special tea too because I agree with you and that's scary.

I mainly watch cable now and you should too. Cancel Supernatural? Edna, I'd make their life a living Hades. I'd put a voodoo curse on those idiots.

Maybe we should just rent some of those men movies. You know the ones.

Edna: Margie, you never cease to amaze me. And I don't mean that in a good way.

I think we'd better start looking up voodoo curses, because I have a feeling things on TV are going to get worse before they get better.

Margie: I'm with you, sister. How does The Margie and Edna Network sound?

Edna: Sounds good to me!

Oh, Mom would agree with you! There is so little TV she likes, and as soon as she finally finds something, they up and cancel the show!

I'll watch your channel! It can be the graveyard of tv-shows that were brutally cancelled in their prime!

Make sure to add me to you rlist for that special tea...
I am SOOOOO With you ... everytime, i get into a show.... BAM.. they cancel it... most of the times, there's a purpose, and it's gone before they announce the big bang.... WHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYY??

all that wasted invested time... :(

I'm all for the M&E network...

I so agree, I am so tired of getting into a show and then boom, it's gone. YAY! for your network of canceled shows.

Ha - that's pretty funny! I agree... You just get into a show then poof it's gone! I can't say I'll miss "My own worst enemy", I really wanted to like it, cause I always thought Christian Slader was cute...but it jumped around too much, too hard to follow, sorta like "Heros"... Anyway... Boston Legal is one of my favs and I hear this is their last season..

No! No-no-no-no-no-no-no!

No more Pushing Daisies? Gack!

I was afraid this would happen. It isn't good enough to have a GOOD show that enough people enjoy. Everything has to be a blockbuster.

What's wrong with good solid ratings and a few blockbusters? When every show has to be a blockbuster, you keep trying new things constantly, and you end up with a bunch of shows that STINK.

I'm really going to miss Kristen Chenowith on TV. Sigh. Those turds.

Add Men in Trees to your programming and I would subscribe on cable tv!

I would also like to add DirtySexyMoney to the list of shows that got axed this season. :(
I now watch shows with a certain detachment, until I know they are kinda safe...

In that case, bring back Freaks and Geeks please!

I'll subscribe to M&E. This is the main reason why I don't watch new shows. I mainly stick to cartoons and news shows.

PLEASE don't scare me with thoughts of losing Fringe. One I adore Josh Jackson and 2. I really can't wait to find out what's going on!!

Pushing Daisies probab;y got cancelled becuase it wasn't dark and moody like everything else on TV these days, and its not a reality show, so of course it had to be cancelled. Damn tv execs forget that without the people wacthing shows, they can't get the money from advertisers, but then again, they cancel stuff at the first sign of trouble these days, so what's the point?

I actually blogged about them cancelling Pushing Daisies a few days ago. Check it out.

I'd watch the M&E nework for sure!

Good luck on your new endeavor. I stopped getting upset over canceled shows years ago -- if I like watching something, it's a sure bet it will be jerked off the air soon.

Oh well. As long as reruns of "The A-Team" are on somewhere, I'll survive.

Hey, if they can cancel Arrested Development, then they will cancel anything...

I wish I had a crystal ball so I would know ahead of time which shows I can get attached to. Luckily,I had to give up Pushing Daisies due to a time constraint after the first season. Unfortunately, I am still mourning Moonlight and will just die if they cancel Supernatural.

I love My Own Worst Enemy! They didn't even give it a chance. I also just heard they're canceling Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money. I love those shows too! Why bother watching tv anymore! Argggh!

Says a lot about our society when the most popular shows are all about murders. CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY. What's next, CSI Podunk? Soon we'll all know how to solve murders and not much else.

Networks need to take a lesson from telenovelas - start with a solid story that has a beginning, middle, and end. You'll sell a helluva lot more DVD's if you have a complete story than cancelling it halfway through. You can even catch viewers after the show's been cancelled.

But alas, they're not thinking about creating quality shows, they're thinking about $$$.

I just learned yesterday about My Own Worst Enemy. I was so depressed, but promised my husband to not get involved in any crusade this time around! ;)

I'd definitely watch M&E, but I have decided to no longer watch anything besides Lost & Grey's Anatomy. I know Lost will be ending soon, and by the time they cancel Grey's, I'll probably be ready! :)
