Margie: Here's a story about Edna and two of her friends.
Three older ladies were discussing the travails of getting older. One said, Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand in front of the refrigerator and can't remember whether I need to put it away or start making a sandwich.
The second lady chimed in, Yes, sometimes I find myself on the landing of the stairs and can't remember whether I am on my way up or on my way down.
The third one responded, Well, I'm glad I don't have that problem, knock on wood. She rapped her knuckles on the table, then told them, That must be the door, I'll get it!

The Funnies
Margie: Edna and I always did love our funnies. Daddy would get the paper first because he kept up with Dick Tracy. Daddy always said that Dick Tracy's 2 Way Wrist Watch was pure science fiction so I wonder what he'd say now if he could see a cell phone.
I liked that Flash Gordon myself. He was a manly man and I always believed he'd make a fine husband.
Mama liked Gasoline Alley. She would laugh so loud and Mama never felt that was proper in a lady. Guess she thought it was okay in her own home.
Edna loved the Katzenjammer Kids. She had a love of strange names and she loved Hans and Fritz because they rebelled against authority and she wished she could too.
What was your favorite funnie?

Margie: Here's a little project I'll be working on this week. Anyone else want to see if this really works?

Sunday Funnies
Margie: I'm calling Cousin T right now to bring me a squirrel! I'm going to make this and give it to Edna for Christmas.
