Fun Friday: Rise and Shine

Margie: Friends, I'd like to share one of my pet peeves with you today and I'm sure some of you can relate. You see, there is not much that makes me madder than somebody laying piled up in the bed while I try to clean this house. It's just pure laziness and Mama didn't teach us to be like that.

Never fear, friends, I have found the remedy for those lazy folk. The next time you need to get somebody out of the bed, you go turn on this video and watch them shake that booty. Lawsy, it worked for me this morning.

Edna came a charging out of her bedroom bellowing like a stuck hog. If you've never seen Edna first thing of a morning then count yourself lucky. She looks like a haint from that Supernatural show.

Go ahead. Turn up the volume now. Rise and shine!

Margie's Fun Friday

Margie: Today is Black Friday which means all the folks will be out looking for sales. Not this girl. People go crazy on this day every year which is why you won't find me leaving the house!

Besides, nobody has given me a bailout so I can't even afford a sale this year. For those of you who do plan to shop today, here's something to think about before you go.

Cousin T's YouTube Tour

Edna: We'd like to start a new series here at the Basement, highlighting some of the more interesting clips to be found over at that wonderful YouTube website. Our favorite Cousin T has volunteered to sort through the millions of clips and find and discuss his favorites. Some of our regular readers know Cousin T by his Jericho name, Terocious, but we know him as that nice young man who comes and fixes our basement door from time to time.

Margie: Edna, as much as I adore Cousin T, he sure does seem attached to those trains of his. Wouldn't you like to go take a nice train ride? I knew this conductor once...

Edna: Hush up Margie, and let the poor boy introduce his clip.

Cousin T: I like this one a lot. First off 'cause it's a train video and I love train videos and second off 'cause that bit in the beginning tricks you into thinking you are going to be doin' a lot of readin' but then the readin' stops and there you are in the middle of the desert watching this amazin' long train. I like the way the shadows from the train are just as dark as they want to be and it is all synched up to this Peter Gabriel music which I think comes from "The Passion of the Christ".

Thank you, Cousin T, for that wonderful video. We love a video that makes us believe we're going to be doing one thing then we're in the desert.

You send us another one soon.

Margie and Edna Play the "Supernatural" Drinking Game

Edna: Margie, you know how I like to watch that YouTube video place? I found one that I think will be right up your alley, you lush. You'd better get the special tea ready!

Margie: Edna, those young men have had too many spirits.

Edna: Margie, you might be on to something. Quick, while they're woozy see if you can get them into the basement!

Margie: Edna, they're locked in the basement! Good and tight.

Edna: Margie, I never thought I'd say it, but I think we've finally found a good use for that special tea of yours. Good thing we built up a tolerance to it years ago.

Sprague Grayden

Edna: Margie, I found this video on the Interwebs, it says it's by this girl by the name of Sprague. I don't know who this Sprague is, but it sure looks to me like it's really little Heather Lisinski talking about our town of Jericho. What do you think?

Margie: Edna, you dimwit. It's called Infernet! Who is a Sprague? My Infernet keeps showing nekkid men.

Edna: Margie, my lands! It's not enough for you to be a hussy in real life, you have to be one on the computer too? Just watch the video!
+++++++++++++

Sprague Grayden reminisces about her most memorable moment and scene from Season 2.
