Margie: My goodness! What a lovely thought. I'm kind of partial to those with lemon filling.
Edna: Lemon filling? Margie, it's times like this that makes me doubt we're even related. Everyone knows that the best donut in the world is the chocolate-iced cream-filled donut.
Besides, I don't think that lemon filling is technically a "cream". That's like saying that a jelly donut is cream-filled. I suppose next you're going to tell me that you believe that we never landed on the moon.
Margie: Edna, can't I even have a favorite donut without you trying to call me a liar? Lemon is technically a cream just like you're technically a control freak.
How do you know we landed on the moon? Prove it, Edna.
Edna: You know, this bickering isn't good for my digestion. Not all of us have the constitution of an ox, some of us are delicate flowers.
What do you say I send Cousin T into town for a box of donuts? My treat. You can even get a lemon-filled donut if you want.
Margie: Edna, that's so nice of you. I'd love a lemon one. What kind of delicate flower am I, Edna?
Edna: You're a stinkweed, Margie.
Sunday, September 14th is National Cream-Filled Donut Day, so eat as many as you want. There are no donut calories on national holidays!
